The aim of these Scholarships is to provide Scottish Dermatology Nurses with an opportunity either to further their experience and knowledge in the dermatology field, or to support a research or audit project.

Guidelines

  1. Select the scholarship that you wish to apply for.
  2. Read the application conditions carefully.
  3. Fully complete the scholarship application form, marking clearly the chosen scholarship. Attach a summary of 300 words of how you would like to see your dermatology practice develop and how you feel this particular scholarship can help you achieve this. In particular mention:
    1. Which elements of your chosen course or conference particularly interest you?
    2. How do you think completing this course, attending this event or participating in this experiential learning will impact on your nursing practice
    3. Do you intend to disseminate the information to others and if so how?
  4. Send completed application forms in an envelope marked SDNS Scholarship to Jane Moran, Dermatology Nurse Practitioner, Dermatology Department, Burnside House, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen AB25 2ZR by Friday 16th April 2010
  5. The successful applicants will be announced at the Annual General Meeting

Conditions

  1. All scholarships are only available to those members that are fully paid members of SDNS by the closing date of the application.
  2. All applications are judged anonymously using a scoring grid and based only on the summary provided, which should NOT include your name or place of work.
  3. All publications arising as a result of the scholarship must give due acknowledgement to the sponsor.
  4. Successful applicants are asked to present a short summary of how they used their scholarship and how it has advanced their practice at the annual conference of the SDNS.
  5. Applicants must submit a 300 word summary with their application.
  6. Applicants must write a letter of thanks to the sponsor of the scholarship.
