The Scottish Dermatological Nursing Society (SDNS) was Established to offer a Speciality group for nurses and health care professionals with an interest in Dermatology. The society is affiliated to the British Dermatological Nursing Group (BDNG) and the Scottish Dermatological Society (SDS)

 

The aims of the Scottish Dermatological Nursing Society are to:

 

  • Promote the development of the highest standard of care for the patient receiving dermatological care
  • Promote the development and recognition of the nurses role in dermatology, for the benefit of the patient
  • Promote and support research into all aspects of dermatology nursing and dermatological patient care
  • Promote and support the education of nurses in dermatology
  • Provide a source of expertise for nurses facing clinical and managerial challenges in the field of dermatological nursing
  • Provide a forum in Scotland for the dissemination of developments and knowledge in the field of dermatological nursing

 

Membership

Only registered nurses with British Dermatological Nursing Group membership are eligible for election to the Executive Committee.

Healthcare professionals and healthcare assistants with an interest in Dermatology are eligible for membership of the SDNS.

Membership is open to any healthcare professional in the acute or primary care setting with an interest in Dermatology nursing. A member of the Society from personal knowledge should propose candidates who do not practice any Dermatological nursing.

The SDNS Executive Committee shall approve such an application.

Subscription

Subscription shall become due on 1st May each year and is £10.00 per annum.

A reminder to renew your membership will be enclosed with documentation of the Annual General Meeting. Subscription fees can be paid by cheque, made payable to: “Scottish Dermatological Nursing Society”
